Soca Festival Photo booth at Rebel and Cabana Pool Bar in Toronto, ON (Pt. 2)

When it comes to high-energy Caribbean events, nothing compares to Soca or Die. Hosted by the legendary Dr. Jay – The Soca Prince, this event is a must-attend during Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) weekend. On August 1, 2024, we had the honor of being the exclusive photo booth partner, capturing the magic of over 1,000+ guests at Cabana Pool Bar and Rebel in Downtown Toronto.

Beachwear, Bass, and Big Energy

This year’s theme? Beach Day. And trust us, guests understood the assignment.

👙 Bikinis & Board Shorts: Everyone showed up in sun-kissed summer fits—think vibrant swimwear, breezy cover-ups, and sunglasses.

🎶 All-Star Lineup: Soca music boomed through the speakers with performances from DJ Puffy, Adam O, Jadel, Th3rd, and Dr. Jay himself.

🍹 Poolside Vibes: With Cabana’s infinity pool and Rebel’s nightlife energy, this event blurred the lines between a day party and an all-night festival.

A Photo Booth Experience as Luxe as the Party

Our photo booth setup had to match the exclusivity and energy of Soca or Die. Here’s what we brought to the table:

✨ Custom Branded Backdrop – We partnered with Hennessy Cognac to showcase their limited-edition bottle, exclusive for Toronto Caribbean Carnival (Caribana). The backdrop was a sleek blend of Hennessy branding and Soca or Die graphics.

🎭 Gold Stanchions, Velvet Ropes & Red Carpet – We elevated the space with a VIP touch, giving guests the celebrity treatment.

💡 RGB Ambient Up lighting – As the sun set, our custom-colored lighting transformed the booth into an immersive experience.

A Collectible Digital Keepsake

For Soca or Die’s Trilogy series, we designed a custom digital photo template that continued the Polaroid-style aesthetic from the first event. This time, the design incorporated:

✔️ Beach-inspired graphics & bold tropical colors

✔️ The Soca or Die logo and Hennessy branding

✔️ Polaroid-style framing for a nostalgic touch

Guests received their photos instantly via email or QR code, making it easy to share their experience online.

An Unforgettable Night

From start to finish, Soca or Die was nonstop energy. The combination of world-class DJs, an incredible crowd, and an elevated photo booth experience made this a Caribana weekend highlight.

One of our favorite moments? Seeing guests return to the booth multiple times, capturing group shots, solo glam moments, and hilarious poses with their crew. Whether they were first-time Soca or Die attendees or returning fans, everyone left with a piece of the night to relive again and again.
